Job summary

Walbec Group's Claims Specialist 1 position is based in Milwaukee and in-office five days a week. You will handle Owned Property, Equipment, and Builder's Risk claims across jurisdictions, investigating, documenting, and pursuing timely resolutions.

Responsibilities include investigations, maintaining files in Origami RMIS, reserving, policy and contract review, coordinating site inspections, and pursuing recovery where appropriate. Strong organization and communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience handling property, equipment, Builder's Risk, or multi-line claims preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance coverage, investigations, reserving, damages, and recovery.
• Ability to review policy and contractual provisions.
• Experience with Origami RMIS is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigates Owned Property, Equipment, Builder's Risk, and other claims of simple to moderate complexity.
• Conducts thorough claim and incident investigations.
• Communicates with Safety, Project Managers, field personnel, and internal departments to obtain claim information and supporting documentation.
• Maintains complete and accurate claim files, entering information into Origami RMIS.
• Establishes reserves in line with reserving philosophy.
• Evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and claim value.
• Reviews policies, contracts, deductibles, and project documentation.
