Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking a Claims Specialist 1 for an in-office, 5-days-a-week role dedicated to Owned Property, Equipment, and Builder's Risk claims across multiple jurisdictions. You will investigate, document, and resolve claims, coordinating with Safety, PMs, and field teams to obtain information and maintain files in Origami.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or 3+ years relevant experience), strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years equivalent experience.
• Experience handling property, equipment, Builder's Risk, or multi-line claims preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance coverage, claims investigation, reserving, damages evaluation, and recovery.
• Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (Origami) preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigates Owned Property, Equipment, Builder's Risk, and other claims of simple to moderate complexity.
• Conducts thorough claim and incident investigations.
• Documents and maintains complete claim files in Origami.
• Establishes reserves in line with reserving philosophy and methodology.
• Evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and recovery opportunities.
• Coordinates site inspections and communicates with project teams to gather information.
