Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Oakland/Walnut Creek team. You will support planning, design, and plan production for site development and infrastructure projects under close supervision, building foundational skills and project workflows.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering degree, 0-2 years of experience, and an interest in learning AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• EIT/FE exam passage preferred and encouraged.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site layout.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and maps.
• Background check post offer; compliant with NIST 800-171.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of engineering design documents, plans, and specifications under direct supervision.
• Prepare drawings and draft documents under direction.
• Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, aerial photographs, and geotechnical and hydrological data.
• Support feasibility studies and assembly of environmental impact data.
• Assist with cost calculations for labor and materials.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
