Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer in Carson City, NV to support planning, design, and plan production for site development and infrastructure projects. You will work under close supervision on supervised assignments to build foundational knowledge and gain practical experience.

The role targets recent graduates with a civil engineering degree and a willingness to learn AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
0–2 years of experience.
EIT/FE exam passage preferred and encouraged.
Basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site layout.
Exposure to AutoCAD; learning MicroStation or Civil 3D.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and maps.
All new hires will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and comply with E-Verify.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of engineering design documents, plans, and specifications under direct supervision.
Prepare drawings and draft documents under direction.
Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, aerial photographs, and geotechnical and hydrological data.
Support feasibility studies and environmental data.
Assist with cost calculations for labor and materials.
Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
