Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol seeks an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Carson City team for Summer 2027, supporting planning, design, and plan production for site development and infrastructure projects—grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater systems.

You will work under close supervision, building foundational civil engineering knowledge and project workflows, with opportunities to grow into more independent design work while gaining real-world experience in waterfront infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• EIT/FE exam passage preferred and encouraged.
• Fundamental civil engineering knowledge in grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Exposure to AutoCAD; learning MicroStation or Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and maps.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of engineering design documents, plans, and specifications under direct supervision
• Prepare drawings and draft documents under direction
• Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, aerial photographs, and geotechnical and hydrological data
• Support feasibility studies and assembly of environmental impact data
• Assist with cost calculations for labor and materials
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time
