Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking an entry-level Caseworker in a training capacity for the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement in Ohio County. The position provides formal classroom training and on-the-job training to develop skills in case processing, customer service, and applying child support laws and regulations.

You will learn under supervision to manage a caseload, locate parents and income sources, and collaborate with agencies while maintaining confidentiality and handling routine

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of clerical and/or paraprofessional experience.
• Successful completion of study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at a rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) credit hours of education.
• Availability of a vehicle for continuous use may be a requisite of employment.

Responsibilities

• Begin casework in processing Child Support cases under supervision.
• Respond to customer inquiries and maintain confidentiality.
• Learn to locate parents, assets, and income sources and calculate Child Support formulas.
• Review public documents and interview customers to gather case information.
