Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Paralegal or legal secretarial training may substitute for two years of the required training.
• Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a legal setting requiring legal research, reading and interpreting laws, preparing documents, and assisting in case file preparation under supervision of an attorney.
• Experience in debt collections, credit investigations, criminal investigations, law enforcement, accounting, or auditing.
• Experience as an Economic Service Worker or Family Support Specialist or any combination thereof substituted at 1 year per 30 college hours.
• May require a valid driver’s license and availability of a vehicle for continuous use.

Responsibilities

• Perform beginning-level child support case work under close supervision.
• Process cases through location, case development and initial notices to non-custodial parents.
• Prepare case files for BCSE Attorney and respond to customer inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Paralegal or legal secretarial training program may substitute for two years of the required training

Full-time Or Equivalent Part-time Paid Experience in a legal setting with legal research and case files under attorney supervision

Experience in debt collections, credit investigations, criminal investigations, law enforcement, accounting, or auditing

Economic Service Worker or Family Support Specialist experience

Any combination thereof substitute for training at 1 year per 30 semester hours

Valid driver's license and vehicle availability
