Job summary

The State of West Virginia seeks an entry-level Caseworker for the Bureau for Child Support Enforcement, located in Cabell County. The role involves training, learning child support laws, locating parents, and processing cases through initial notices and case development under close supervision.

Employees will assist with customer service inquiries, maintain confidentiality, and prepare case files for the BCSE Attorney as they progress toward independent caseload management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Paralegal or legal secretarial training may substitute for two years of required training.
• Experience in a legal setting with research or interpretation of laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform beginning level child support case work under supervision.
• Process cases through location, case development, and initial notice to non-custodial parents.
• Prepare case files for BCSE Attorney and respond to customer service inquiries.
