Job summary

NIS EXPRESS is seeking drivers with a CDL-A to begin a phased training path that leads to solo over-the-road driving on a Midwest regional fleet. Trainees ride with an experienced trainer and earn weekly pay while learning the ropes.

Post-training, drivers will earn guarantees and move into solo runs with a structured pay plan, including mileage-based pay and short-load bonuses. The role emphasizes consistent home time and a Monday–Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required; 21+ years old.
• 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school.
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Live within 100 miles of hiring cities: Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington, Dayton.

Responsibilities

• Drive dry van freight across Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
• Maintain 1,500–1,800 miles per week with Monday–Saturday schedule.
• Start in training with a driver trainer and move to solo driving after certification.
• Operate with drop and hook, live loads/unloads as applicable.

Have your CDL-A but no driving experience yet? This is where you start. London drivers can start on a Midwest regional fleet that leaves Monday and gets drivers home Saturday, every week.

How You Start

• Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
• $850 per week during training
• Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off
• $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months of solo driving

The Job

• Dry van freight in Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois
• 1,500 to 1,800 miles per week
• Out Monday, home Saturday
• Drop and hook, live loads, live unloads and preloads

Pay

• Average weekly earnings of $1,000 to $1,400
• 56 cents per mile to start, 59 cents at 6 months
• $40 load pay under 150 miles, $25 for 150 to 250 miles
• $15 stop pay and performance bonus

Two Ways to Start

• CDL-A in hand, no experience: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school. Paid training with a driver trainer, paid every week while you learn.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years. Skip training and go straight to your own truck.
