Job summary

NIS EXPRESS in Louisville is seeking CDL A drivers for a short haul Midwest fleet. Out Monday and home Saturday with weekly gross between $1,000 and $1,400; starting pay $0.56/mi, rising to $0.59/mi at 6 months.

You’ll cover KY, OH, MI, IN, IL, averaging 1,500–1,800 miles weekly and returning home every weekend. New drivers receive $850 training pay and a trainer on real freight, then straight to solo pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL A and be 21 or older.
• New drivers must show 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school.
• Experienced drivers need 6 months OTR in the last 12 months or 12+ months in past 5 years.
• Clean driving record with limited violations and no major accidents in 5 years.
• Able to pass DOT physical and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate short haul Midwest routes and deliver loads safely.
• Maintain weekly mileage of 1,500–1,800 miles and home every weekend.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies.

The Numbers

• $1,000 to $1,400 average weekly gross
• $0.56 per mile to start, $0.59 at 6 months
• +$40 on loads under 150 miles, +$25 on 150 to 250 miles
• $15 stop pay
• $1,000 weekly guaranteed pay for your first 3 months after first solo dispatch

The Route

• Runs only KY, OH, MI, IN and IL
• 1,500 to 1,800 miles a week
• Home every weekend

New Drivers

• $850 weekly training pay
• Trainer on real freight
• Straight to full solo pay after

Must Meet

• Class A CDL, 21 or older
• Brand new drivers: proof of 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the past 5 years
• 2 moving violations or fewer in 2 years, no major preventable accidents in 5 years
• Clean DUI/DWI history for 5 to 10 years, based on when you got your CDL
• Able to pass a DOT physical plus hair and urine drug testing
• Live within 100 miles of Columbus, OH
