Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking an Associate Project Consultant for our NYC Building Technology division in 2027 to assist with design, evaluation, investigation, and repairs for existing buildings under licensed engineers.

You will climb ladders, travel to job sites, and collaborate across disciplines; a BS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering and 0–5 years of experience with EIT preferred are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
• 0 to 5 years of experience; EIT preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in building construction and solving engineering problems.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and enthusiasm for the work.
• Experience in AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings under licensed engineers.
• Climb ladders and scaffolds; work at great heights; travel to multiple job sites as needed.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate structural and envelope considerations.
• Maintain high levels of activity, communicate clearly with clients and team members.
