Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking an Associate Project Consultant to support Building Technology projects in the New York office. You will assist licensed engineers with design, evaluation, and repairs for existing buildings, applying engineering principles, physics, and materials science to exterior envelopes.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering and 2–5 years of experience; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
• 2–5 years of experience; EIT preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in building construction and engineering problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, written and oral, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, evaluation, investigation, and repairs for existing buildings under licensed engineers.
• Travel to multiple job sites; able to climb ladders and scaffolds; work at great heights.
• Apply engineering principles, physics, and materials science to exterior building envelopes.
