Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking an Assembly I to perform sub-assembly and basic assembly tasks in a manual manufacturing setting. You will study instructions and parts lists, gather materials, and ensure correct fit and secure fastening of components.

You will also help build prototypes, maintain safety, and document production steps. Strong reading skills, basic computer use, and ability to read English instructions are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 0–1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to read and understand English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Study assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by reading templates or measurements.
• Assemble components and check fit and fastenings.
• Assist in building prototypes and basic assembly projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment per procedures and regulations.
• Conserve resources by efficient use of equipment and supplies.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks as needed.
• Inspect work and ensure it meets requirements before passing to next step.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
