Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking an Assembler I for our United States facility. Responsibilities include studying instructions, reading blueprints, assembling components, and training others as needed.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read Bills of Materials, and competency with hand and power tools. Physical demands are moderate-heavy; lifting and long periods of standing are expected. We offer a comprehensive benefits package within a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 0-1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Assist in building prototypes and/or other basic assembly projects.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of basic assembly tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
