Job summary

LECHLER INC is seeking an entry-level Jr. Application Engineer to support the review and evaluation of customer requirements and assist in creating technical sales proposals. Under guidance from senior staff, you will help ensure accurate scope and project requirements are conveyed to Engineering for successful projects.

This development role covers Industrial, Process Technology, and Metallurgical markets, with training to progress toward a full Application Engineer role.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Internships/Co-ops accepted as experience.
• Must be proficient in English; German/Spanish is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating customer requirements and support development of technical sales proposals.
• Perform basic calculations and prepare preliminary technical options for review by senior staff.
• Assist in estimating costs for proposed solutions using data and guidance from Application Engineers.
• Support in preparing PFDs and P&IDs; assist with pipe sizing and thermal expansion reviews.
• Coordinate data gathering to respond to customer technical questions and ensure clear handoff to Project Engineering.
