Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer to develop technical proposals and tailor designs to customer needs. The role includes configuring design and costing tools, and working independently to respond to customers.

Essential functions include screening inquiries, liaising with sales, interpreting requirements, and negotiating technical revisions with clients. Travel is minimal; strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and relevant work experience.
• Experience designing biological wastewater treatment systems.
• Experience interpreting customer requirements for technical proposals.
• Ability to develop and negotiate technical responses with customers.
• Strong communication, planning and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical proposals/quotations with equipment specs.
• Screens inquiries to ensure required information for quotations.
• Liaises with sales to obtain missing information.
• Interprets customer data to define requirements for proposals.
• Reviews scope of supply and creates job files per Sulzer specs.
• Provides timely technical responses and support to customers.
