Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Job Developer (Entry) to join a team acting as the central contact for coordinating job placement and support services for clients. The role focuses on developing individualized employment plans, conducting assessments, and connecting participants with employers and services in the LA area.

The position emphasizes working on-site, with responsibilities including counseling, referrals, and collaboration with community partners to help participants

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• 6 months of experience as a job developer or similar position.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience with veterans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops an individualized employment plan with each participant.
• Conduct employability assessments of potential participants, including ability, readiness for work, education, skills, and barriers to employment.
• Write complete and detailed individualized employment plans with goals and referrals.
• Conduct screenings and assessments with veterans to tailor a service plan.
• Meet regularly with participants to aid job search and coordinate interviews and leads.
• Provide career counseling and job coaching, including labor market trends.
• Provide job readiness training (resume, interviews, job search).
• Develop relationships with local employers for long-term placement.
• Coordinate with work source centers and education partners to ensure access to services.
