Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Manager - Software Engineering to lead end-to-end delivery of critical applications built on React, Java Spring Boot, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS. You will partner with product owners, architects, and operations teams to drive modernization, reliability, and performance improvements.

Hybrid work arrangement is available in this role. You will mentor engineers, manage multiple initiatives, and ensure compliance with security standards and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, application delivery, or technical leadership.
• Experience leading large-scale delivery initiatives and engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and Microservices, Spring Batch and AWS Batch.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience designing distributed, high-availability systems and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of business initiatives, ensuring alignment with objectives and security requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for applications built with React, Java Spring Boot, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS services.
• Drive solution design discussions with Enterprise Architecture and define scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Stakeholders to translate requirements into delivery plans and roadmaps.
• Own delivery commitments, release planning, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
