Job summary

Casella is seeking a strategic leader to head the Enterprise PMO, directing portfolio governance, standards, and delivery practices across the organization to ensure alignment with business strategy.

The role reports to the Chief Transformation Officer and focuses on improving portfolio visibility, delivery predictability, risk management, and building PMO maturity while guiding transformation initiatives to measurable value.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of project and program management experience.
• 5+ years building, leading, or maturing a PMO, transformation office, or strategic portfolio management function.
• Experience developing governance frameworks, portfolio management processes, delivery standards, and benefits realization practices.
• Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the Enterprise PMO function and delivery resources.
• Develops and standardizes enterprise PMO governance, templates, and best practices.
• Manages the enterprise project portfolio aligning with priorities and budgets.
• Leads portfolio intake, prioritization, and stage-gate reviews with senior leadership.
• Prepares executive‑level reporting on portfolio health, risks, budgets, and benefits.
• Partners with business, IT, finance, procurement, HR, legal, and vendors to translate strategy into programs.
• Drives accountability for delivery outcomes including scope, schedule, and quality.
• Identifies portfolio risks and dependencies and resolves issues through governance.
• Maintains standardized project documentation, dashboards, roadmaps, and metrics.
• Leads PMO tool strategy and adoption for planning and reporting.
• Coaches and develops PMO staff; promotes transparency and continuous improvement.
• Supports organizational change management with communication and training.
• Ensures compliance with policies, controls, risk management, and governance.
• Leads and motivates teams with clear goals and development opportunities.
• Participates in training and aligns with company mission and values.
• Ensures safety/compliance as required.
