Job summary

PowerPlan, Inc. is seeking an executive Director, Project Management Office to own a portfolio of up to 150 concurrent enterprise engagements for energy and utility customers.

You will independently assess project health, challenge forecasts, and require corrective actions where needed, while hardening the operating model and establishing Certinia PSA as the system of record. You will lead PM Managers and their teams, align cross-functional partners, and drive predictable execution at scale

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive PMO leadership experience in project-driven organizations, including a demonstrated PMO turnaround or capability transformation.
• Proven track record both leading Project Managers and being one, with appropriate certifications (PMP, PgMP).
• Proven track record managing a portfolio of concurrent enterprise software or Professional Services engagements, with accountability for customer, revenue, margin, and delivery outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose systemic delivery problems rather than treating symptoms one engagement at a time.
• Experience running a PMO - establishing delivery governance, stage gates, and evidence-based health-rating standards, without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Experience with a Professional Services Automation platform; Certinia PSA (formerly FinancialForce) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing Project Managers and Program Managers, including coaching through a layer of PM Managers.
• Ability to build and sustain cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of up to 150 concurrent enterprise software engagements and assess project health with evidence-based reviews.
• Harden delivery standards, stage gates, and governance rhythms to ensure consistency and retire low-value processes.
• Make Certinia PSA the single system of record and eliminate shadow spreadsheets.
• Map and fix delivery handoffs across Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, and Finance, starting with high-friction areas.
• Coach PM Managers and teams from live engagement reviews and recoveries, not from behind a desk.
• Develop leaders and succession plans to ensure predictable execution beyond any single individual.
