Markel is seeking a Training & Development Manager to join the Change Management Office (CMO) and lead learning and enablement efforts that support enterprise transformation initiatives. This role partners with business leaders, project teams, and Change Managers to translate organizational change into effective learning experiences that drive readiness, adoption, and business results.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in Training, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Change Management, or related field.
• Proven experience leading learning and enablement for large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Strong instructional design across curricula, eLearning, job aids, and performance support resources.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience developing learning strategies that drive business outcomes and adoption.
• Experience partnering with leaders to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across business and technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning and enablement strategies for enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Partner with leaders, project teams, and Change Managers to identify knowledge gaps and adoption risks.
• Conduct learning needs assessments and define role-based requirements.
• Develop learning strategies aligned with objectives and change outcomes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on learning and enablement best practices.
• Recommend solutions to improve performance, proficiency, and adoption.
• Design curricula, paths, eLearning, instructor-led materials, videos, job aids, and guides.
• Apply adult learning principles to create engaging content.
• Translate complex processes and changes into clear learning content.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve content quality and scalability.
• Establish training standards and reusable assets.
• Deliver instructor-led, virtual, hybrid training; facilitate sessions.
• Manage learner participation, completion tracking, and reporting.
• Support readiness and adoption activities with leaders.
