Job summary

Slalom in Miami is seeking an AI/ML Architect to design and deliver production-grade AI systems across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You’ll partner with clients to shape strategy, define secure architectures, and move AI solutions from experimentation into reliable operations.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams of data and ML engineers, set technical direction for data products and agentic workflows, and champion Responsible AI with governance and privacy controls.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience implementing ML/AI solutions in production.
• 5+ years in professional consulting or IT services.
• Ability to design and govern production AI systems end-to-end.
• Deep expertise in GenAI patterns including RAG, embeddings, knowledge graphs.
• Experience defining agentic AI architecture patterns, supervisor/worker workflows.
• Proficiency with modern AI engineering frameworks and tools.
• Strong Python programming and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for enterprise-scale AI systems spanning data products, retrieval pipelines, model orchestration, agents and long-term lifecycle.
• Define secure, scalable cloud-native reference architectures across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Guide applied AI strategy across generative, agentic, multimodal AI and knowledge assistants.
• Lead production GenAI adoption including tool calling, memory patterns, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Establish AI evaluation, observability, and reliability standards with automated tests and monitoring.
• Champion Responsible AI, privacy, bias mitigation, and governance-by-design.
• Evaluate emerging models and deployment patterns with executive-ready recommendations.
• Mentor cross-functional delivery teams and drive business development.
