Job summary

dbt Labs is seeking an Enterprise Solutions Engineer in New York City to serve as a trusted technical advisor for large strategic customers. You will evaluate, design, and expand usage of the dbt platform across the customer lifecycle.

You’ll partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable value, drive adoption, and contribute best practices to the Field Engineering organization and dbt community.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar client-facing tech roles.
• Strong background in SQL, data transformation, ETL/ELT, and data modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to explain complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers, linking technical requirements to outcomes.
• Design enterprise-grade data transformation and analytics architectures using dbt.
• Partner with Sales to communicate technical and business value of the dbt platform.
• Lead evaluations and validation, including trials and value demonstrations.
• Build trusted relationships with practitioners, data leaders, and senior stakeholders.
• Guide customers through architecture, security, governance, and deployment considerations.
• Collaborate across lifecycle to drive adoption and identify expansion opportunities.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering to influence roadmap, and engage with partners.
