Job summary

Kapitus is seeking a high-impact leader for Principal Data & AI Governance to architect and operationalize enterprise governance. This role balances strategic framework design with hands-on delivery, defining governance requirements, controls, and evidence expectations across data, analytics, and AI services.

You will partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and Product teams to align governance with enterprise risk practices, and work closely with Data Engineering and

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related data disciplines.
• Experience developing federated stewardship programs, governance operating models, policies, and workflows.
• Knowledge of glossary design, metadata, data cataloging, lineage, and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operationalize Kapitus’s enterprise Data Governance framework.
• Design federated governance models enabling Data Owners and Stewards.
• Codify standards, workflows, and governance records to reduce external consulting dependency.
• Establish governance for critical data assets including metadata, lineage, and data contracts.
• Define enterprise Data Quality framework, monitoring, and risk-based release criteria.
• Partner with various teams to embed governance in data products and analytics processes.
• Lead as functional product owner for Atlan and governance capabilities.
• Define Model & AI Governance framework for analytical models and AI-enabled workflows.
