Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Data Governance & AI Governance Lead to establish and operate an enterprise-wide data governance program. You will partner with Security, IT, and stakeholders to map data landscapes, define standards, and enable responsible AI use.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building governance programs, ownership and stewardship models, and familiarity with governance tools. This role is hybrid in Dallas, TX, with a 6-month contract.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or information governance.
• Experience helping to establish or mature a data governance program or framework using industry best practices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Varonis, or similar data discovery/classification platforms; hands-on Varonis administration is not required.
• Experience defining and implementing data ownership and stewardship models.
• Experience developing data governance policies, standards, procedures, or operating frameworks.
• Experience with metadata management, business glossaries, data dictionaries, or data catalogs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of an enterprise data governance program including structures, processes, standards, and operating practices.
• Partner with Security and IT to map the organization’s data landscape and sensitive data areas.
• Engage business and technical data owners across the organization.
• Establish a cross-functional Data Governance Working Group.
• Define data stewardship models with accountable data stewards.
• Develop governance charters, operating models, and RACI matrices.
