Job summary

Mountwest Community & Technical College is seeking a Student Services Specialist within the Division of Student Services. You will support students through admissions and enrollment, assist with FAFSA and financial aid questions, and collaborate with campus resources to ensure a smooth onboarding and successful enrollment.

Responsibilities include recruitment outreach, processing admissions applications, and guiding students through enrollment steps while maintaining high customer-service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, student services, business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage detailed records, interpret policies, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, student information systems/databases, and other technology.
• Travel will be required; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a welcoming, student-centered point of contact for Student Services.
• Assist prospective students with admissions applications and overview of Mountwest programs.
• Assist students with FAFSA completion and financial aid questions.
• Provide assistance with general forms, paperwork, and routine Student Services needs.
• Liaise between Student Services and programs at off-campus locations.
• Support enrollment and student success efforts for short-term training and workforce programs.
• Connect students with appropriate offices and staff for specialized assistance.
• Participate in recruitment events, information sessions, and enrollment initiatives.
• Assist with follow-up and outreach to reduce barriers and support persistence.
• Develop partnerships to recruit special populations.
