Job summary

Mountwest Community & Technical College - Cabell Co. is seeking a Student Experience Advocate to be the welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors in the Division of Student Services.

You will assist with Admissions, FAFSA and Financial Aid, Advising, Accessibility, Wellness, and other Student Services needs. Reporting to the Director of Advising and Retention, this role provides exceptional service, triages inquiries, helps students navigate college processes, and supports

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage detailed records and confidentiality.
• Experience in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for students visiting Student Services.
• Answer main college phone line and direct calls to appropriate offices.
• Assist students with FAFSA completion and basic financial aid questions.
• Assist prospective students with admissions applications and enrollment questions.
• Check students in for appointments with Advising, Financial Aid, Admissions, and other areas.
• Provide general information about campus programs, services, resources, and processes.
• Assist with student workshops and outreach to remove barriers to enrollment.
• Develop and supervise Student Services work study student employees.
• Support persistence, retention, and completion initiatives.
• Maintain welcoming, accessible, student-centered service and confidentiality.
