Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to lead EL program initiatives, support school leadership, and develop teacher capacity in English Language Development for EL students. This role focuses on coordination of screening, data entry, and collaboration with special education to align supports with CCSS and WIDA standards.

The ELPT will engage families, participate in quarterly OLCE trainings, and help ensure high-quality instructional practices across PreK-12.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bilingual and/or ESL Endorsement.
• Knowledge of standards (e.g., WIDA ELD, CCSS).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Promote high-quality instruction for all ELs.
• Advocate equity and respect for EL cultures and languages.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administration of mandated state-prescribed screeners within set deadlines.
• Enter screener results and review EL rosters and ACCESS reports.
• Collaborate with special education to ensure appropriate services and MTSS interventions.
• Update EL profiles in Aspen and monitor testing windows.
