Job summary

CPS is seeking an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to support school leadership in administering the EL program, lead professional development on English Language Development and instruction for English Learners, and engage families of ELs in their children’s education.

The ELPT coordinates mandated screenings, roster reviews, and reporting; collaborates with special education staff; leads EL program advisory activities; and ensures timely documentation and participation in OLCE trainings

Qualifications

• Experience with EL programs and ELD instruction.
• Endorsement in bilingual and/or ESL required.
• Knowledge of WIDA ELD and CCSS standards.
• Experience coordinating EL program activities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to equity in EL education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mandated state-prescribed EL screenings within required timelines.
• Maintain EL rosters and update ACCESS reports and Not Tested notes.
• Collaborate with SPED staff to ensure ELs with IEPs are serviced appropriately.
• Support EL teachers with CCSS/WIDA-aligned instruction and differentiation.
• Lead ELPT trainings and disseminate information to administrators and staff.
• Advise on BAC elections and coordinate parent engagement efforts.
