Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to support school leadership in EL program administration and to lead PD for EL/ED classrooms across PreK–12. The role focuses on EL student services, screening, and coordinating communications with families and staff.

The ELPT will collaborate with ILT teams, classroom teachers, and testing coordinators to ensure high-quality instruction standards (CCSS & WIDA).

Qualifications

• Hold a Bilingual and/or ESL Endorsement.
• Knowledge of WIDA ELD and CCSS standards.
• Experience with EL programs and district policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administration of mandated State-prescribed Screener (e.g., WIDA Screener) within enrollment windows.
• Enter State-prescribed Screener results in Aspen and review EL rosters.
• Coordinate distribution of CPS Parent Notification Letters and translated versions on the Employee Intranet.
• Collaborate with special education staff to ensure ELs with IEPs are serviced appropriately and MTSS data are entered.
• Update EL profiles in Aspen in a timely manner and monitor transitions for ELs.
• Coordinate ACCESS testing within mandated time frames and report Not Tested Reasons.
• Maintain documentation of bilingual/ESL staff participation in EL PD sessions and EL Program Reviews.
• Assist school administration in OLCE form submissions (EL summer program enrollment, etc.).
• Attend ELPT trainings and disseminate information to administrators and teachers.
