Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an EL Network Specialist to advance English Learner instruction across PreK-12. The role focuses on building capacity, providing instructional support, and developing high-quality EL programming with district partners.

Strong content expertise in EL instruction and leadership is required. The incumbent will lead professional development, model best practices, analyze data to drive planning, and collaborate with school-based teams and CPS offices to improve EL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching certificate/PEL with ISBE Bilingual and/or ESL endorsement.
• Master's degree in Education field of study is strongly preferred.
• Administrative endorsement is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of classroom teaching experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in educational leadership.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience working with adult learners, including coaching and/or PD.

Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated instructional support by working with administrators and teachers to model effective EL practices.
• Collaborate with teams to drive data-informed planning around EL instruction.
• Lead professional development around EL instructional practices for EL teacher leaders and administrators.
• Coach ELPTs around EL Instructional Leadership development and data-guided decisions.
• Consult with district leaders to develop data-informed strategies for EL programming.
• Collaborate with CPS offices to ensure EL considerations in initiatives and goals.
• Participate in district-wide professional learning and represent OMME.
• Other duties as assigned.
