Job summary

ALSO is seeking an Engineering Technical Lead – Engineering Triage to lead triage processes across embedded firmware, mobile apps, cloud services, and connected systems. You will own issue intake, prioritization, investigation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure rapid resolution and high product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in embedded software, mobile apps, cloud services, and engineering operations.
• Automotive experience and debugging with CAN tools and DBCs is a plus.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering investigations.
• Strong understanding of embedded/ distributed architectures, MCUs/RTOS/Linux, OTA updates.
• Experience with Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi/Cellular/GNSS/MQTT/REST in connected products.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, backend services, telemetry, and observability.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence/GitHub/GitLab or equivalents for lifecycle management.
• Excellent debugging, log analysis, and interpretation of traces across layers.
• Familiarity with JTAG/I2C/SPI hardware interfaces and test equipment.
• Programming/scripting to automate workflows and tooling in C/C++/Python.
• Experience with CI/CD, release readiness, and operational excellence in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering Triage, define processes, workflows, and tooling.
• Own intake, prioritization, investigation, and assignment of issues from multiple sources.
• Drive cross-functional root-cause analysis across firmware, mobile, cloud, APIs, and hardware.
• Partner with multiple teams to ensure timely resolution and quality.
• Lead periodic triage reviews, coordinate investigations, remove blockers, drive closure.
• Develop dashboards and metrics for aging, defect trends, release quality, and throughput.
• Improve observability with logging, diagnostics, telemetry, and remote debugging.
• Define severity classifications, escalation paths, and SLAs for issue management.
• Collaborate with Release Management on readiness and go/no-go decisions.
• Develop tooling to enhance issue tracking, log collection, and diagnostics.
• Drive continuous improvements by identifying recurring failures and actions.
• Mentor engineers in debugging, cross-functional problem-solving, and incident handling.
• Communicate risks, impact, status, and mitigation plans to leadership.
