Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Manager - Engineering Training & Operational Support in Bethpage to oversee training for engineering management and craft staff and ensure compliance with FRA and other regulations. The role entails coordinating safety initiatives and supporting emergency operations.

Responsibilities include managing training databases, scheduling, and liaising with Corporate Development, Safety and Engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree as stated; additional related experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Experience developing reports utilizing Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience in planning/administration in a multi-union environment or process improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain Training Database for scheduling, tracking and ensuring compliance with all mandated Safety and Regulatory training (e.g., FRA, RWP) in Engineering.
Liaise between Training, Engineering disciplines, Corporate Development and Safety to coordinate training.
Support Engineering Safety and Compliance staff in Medical Surveillance and related programs.
Coordinate Emergency Lodging Reservations for the Engineering department and CAP with transportation during emergencies.
Provide coaching, career development and performance reviews for team members; promote safe work practices.
