Duke Energy Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technologist I in a hybrid role serving Lake Wales or Highland (Sebring) operation centers. This entry-level position targets individuals with an Engineering Technology background who will develop technical expertise and oversee work under close supervision.
Qualifications include an associate degree in Engineering Technology or a high school diploma/GED with two years of related experience. Travel is 5–15% and relocation is not guaranteed.

This is the first level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. The Engineering Technologist I applies developing technical expertise to solve simple problems, and management skills to provide oversight of work in a specific area of developing expertise, with high direction and close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their field of study, and the ability to work with some degree of independence.
