Job summary

Terracon in Hoover, Alabama is hiring a Field and Laboratory Technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

You will communicate findings to the Project Manager, prepare reports, maintain equipment, and support safety protocols on site. A strong focus on accuracy, documentation, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of experience are required.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• ACI certification within 90 days of hire is expected.
• Related internal safety certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, and others regarding requirements and results.
• Prepare data and observations in written and digital reports for daily submission to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas; assist with scheduling as needed.
• Follow strict safety standards and ensure quality on all projects.
