Job summary

Terracon in Hoover, AL is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform field testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will document findings, manage samples, and communicate results to the Project Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5–10 years of related experience, proficiency with Word/Excel, and a valid driver's license. NICET/ICC/ASNT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• NICET/ICC/ASNT certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data before submittal to Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Trains lower level technicians and may supervise activities on larger projects.
