This is an Engineering Technician I position located in the Division 14 Mills River Construction Office involving technical work supporting technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control.
This position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non- standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. You must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping. Selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety toe shoes required. Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of NCDOT post offer employment evaluation. You do not have to have a degree to qualify for this position. Applicants with at least two years of related experience are highly encouraged to apply. Applicant must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle to and from job sites.
