Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technical Lead for the Draper, Utah office. You will lead a hands-on team, design scalable API integrations, and champion performance, resiliency, and observability across deployments.

You will collaborate with engineering managers, product, QA, and architects to ensure quality and timely releases, while mentoring engineers and adopting best practices in software development.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 8+ years in building complex applications and APIs.
• Proficient with Elixir and at least one other modern language.
• Experience with AI tooling to boost development efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across delivery lifecycle.
• Own and execute technical solutions aligned with architecture.
• Lead backlog refinement from a technical view.
• Drive API design and integration contracts.
• Own non-functional requirements (performance, resiliency, observability).
• Support release readiness and production incident response.
