Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. in Draper, UT seeks a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment. You will design, code, test, troubleshoot, document and support application programs and system interfaces using modern languages and tools.

You may lead some projects, review code for quality, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features while upholding best practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience building complex applications and integrating third party APIs.
• Proficient with Ruby on Rails development and other languages.
• Familiarity with Typescript, JavaScript and Node.js.
• Experience with incorporating AI tools like Claude and Github Copilot.
• Experience with AWS cloud platform development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Elixir, Kotlin, Python or Java.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, troubleshoot, document and support applications and system interfaces.
• Work independently to solve complex software problems and deliver quality software on time.
• Analyze requirements and design safe, effective changes to software.
• Contribute to architectural and technical decision discussions with leadership.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster continuous learning.
