Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for on-site work in Draper, Utah. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, design, code, test, and deploy applications, and lead portions of projects.

The role requires deep experience with Ruby on Rails, Typescript/JavaScript, Node.js and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with Delivery Managers, Product Managers and designers, and mentor junior engineers to uphold code quality and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience building complex applications and APIs.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and other languages.
• Experience with Typescript, JavaScript and Node.js.
• Experience integrating AI tools like Claude and Github Copilot.
• Experience with AWS cloud platform development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Elixir, Kotlin, Python or Java.
• Strong software design principles and patterns.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, troubleshoot, document and support application programs and system interfaces.
• Independently solve complex software problems and deliver quality software on time.
• Analyze requirements and design safe, effective software changes to minimize risk.
• Contribute to architectural decisions with insights from experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster continuous learning.
