Job summary

Acima/Upbound in Draper, UT is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment. You will design, code, test, troubleshoot, document and support applications and system interfaces using modern languages and tools.

You may lead projects and perform thorough code reviews to ensure quality. You will collaborate with Delivery Managers, Product Managers, Designers and other engineers to deliver new features, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience building complex applications and integrations.
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails and familiarity with Typescript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native development.
• Strong DB skills: PostgreSQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with Elixir, Kotlin, Python or Java.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience applying AI tools to improve development efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, troubleshoot, document and support applications and system interfaces.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; participate in code reviews and best practices.
• Analyze requirements and design safe, scalable changes to software.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision making.
• Collaborate with Delivery, Product, Designers, engineers and stakeholders to deliver features.
