Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Staff Engineering Project Manager to oversee engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance on a defined program. You will provide the primary Tech Ops interface with the PM Office and the customer, identify and close technical issues, and track ETC/EVM metrics to monitor progress.

The role requires coordinating staffing with line managers, ensuring TPMs and baselines are maintained, and aligning with program control processes and modern engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or technical discipline.
• Prior project management experience and/or CAM experience or equivalent comparable experience.
• Prior technical project leadership experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, thus a US Citizen.

In this role, the Staff Engineering Project Management position will be accountable for overall engineering technical, cost and schedule performance on a specific program. Provides primary Tech Ops interface with Program Management (PM) Office/Customer for all programmatic items on a specific program. Responsible for identification and closure of technical issues. Meets/Exceeds all technical commitments made to the programs. Tracks Estimated time to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) Metrics to monitor program performance and identify technical or Tech Ops staffing risks, while managing cost/schedule. Ensures requirements baseline in documents, tracked, maintained, and verified. Ensures establishment and tracking of key Technical Performance Measures (TPM). Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements. Works with PM to ensure GRID is up to date. Works closely with first and second line functional leaders to identify and secure appropriate staffing, coordinates with the PM office and first line managers on proposed engineering staffing changes prior to changes. Works with PM to ensure organizational standard processes are adapted, approved and followed. Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry. In concert with the LOB and/or Market Segment Chief Engineer, ensures program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices. EPM is also responsible for the Chief Architect (CA) roles and responsibilities when the project or market segment does not utilize CAs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (engineering field or technical discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Prior project management experience and / or Control Account Management (CAM) experience or equivalent comparable experience.
• Prior technical project leadership experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, thus a US Citizen.

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope.
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change.
• Experience in project management principals (Cost/Schedule/Technical).
• Knowledge of program lifecycle and how early achievements may drive future costs.
• Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment).
• Experience in Business Rhythm creation and management experience.
• Excellent presentation abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
