Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation.

Our Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) help maintain these facilities by testing and implementing the latest technology and work practices to meet market demands.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, ensuring 24/7 reliability.
  2. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  3. Assist troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  4. Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
  5. Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  6. Create technical documentation to support change management programs.
  7. Manage daily work requests to resolution and execute projects from conception to completion.
  8. Support onsite contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  9. Work schedule varies, with shifts up to 12 hours, possibly rotating, including on-call rotations.
  10. This role may support multiple locations/sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to work in conditions such as lifting up to 39 pounds, working on ladders, and handling physical tasks.
  • Ability to work with ear protection and perform various physical activities as described.
A day in the life

This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center equipment, reporting to a Facility Manager. Equipment includes generators, electrical systems, cooling systems, fire safety systems, and more.

Basic Qualifications
  • Technical training or 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience, or equivalent in a mission-critical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
