Qualifications

Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates our critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared to stand up against any situation.

Our Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) help keep them that way by working with the brightest minds from around the globe to test and implement new technology and work practices to meet changing market demands.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
  2. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  3. Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  4. Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  6. Create technical documentation to support change management programs.
  7. Monitor daily work requests, manage resolutions, and execute projects from conception to completion.
  8. Provide on-site support to contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work complies with established practices, procedures, and legislation.
  9. Work schedule may vary, including shifts up to 12 hours and on-call rotations, depending on site needs.
  10. This role may support more than one location/site.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to work in conditions such as lifting up to 39 pounds, working on ladders, and performing construction tasks.
  • Ability to walk, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull objects.
  • Work environment may require ear protection.
A day in the life

This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center equipment, reporting to a Data Center Facility Manager. Equipment includes generators, electrical systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, fire safety systems, and building automation systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Technical training or 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission-critical environment or relevant industry.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
