Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates our critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation.

Our Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) help keep them that way by testing and implementing new technology and work practices to meet changing market demands.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, ensuring 24/7 reliability and availability.
  2. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  3. Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
  4. Perform rack installations and decommissioning within SLA.
  5. Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  6. Create technical documentation to support change management.
  7. Manage daily work requests to resolution and execute projects from conception to completion.
  8. Support on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  9. Work shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
  10. This role may support multiple locations/sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in conditions requiring reasonable accommodations.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 39 pounds; participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
  • Maintain balance and perform tasks on ladders.
  • Perform various physical activities including walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, twisting, bending, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work in environments requiring ear protection.
A day in the life

This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting, reporting to a Data Center Facility Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment like generators, switchgear, UPS units, cooling systems, fire safety equipment, and building automation systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Technical training or 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in mission-critical infrastructure or relevant industry.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
