Job summary

Lyft is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Rider organization to lead a cross-functional team and deliver 0-to-1 products that enhance the rideshare experience. You will own roadmaps, drive execution, and ensure engineering excellence across backend, mobile, and platform efforts.

You'll partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Analytics to translate business goals into actionable projects, mentor engineers, and maintain high standards for reliability, observability, and on-call

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering leadership experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Experience launching consumer-facing products and 0-to-1 initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive team execution, resolve bottlenecks, and make decisive trade-offs.
• Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Science, and Analytics on strategy.
• Translate business goals into projects and own a team roadmap.
• Maintain observability, reliability, and on-call readiness.
• Ensure architectural excellence and manage technical debt.
• Foster a healthy team culture and manage resourcing.
• Mentor engineers and guide career development.
• Build cross-team relationships and share learnings.
