Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering utility-scale solar, energy storage, and other renewables projects. You will oversee engineering work across the project lifecycle, ensure safety, quality, and adherence to technical standards, and coordinate with EPC firms, developers, and operating companies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Minimum of ten years in utility engineering.
PE licensure in any U.S. state preferred.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience with renewable generation, energy storage, or major capital projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team for solar, BESS, and other renewables.
Provide engineering oversight across the project lifecycle and across multiple delivery models.
Coordinate interfaces among internal teams, EPC firms, developers, consultants, and operating companies.
Develop and maintain design-basis documentation, changes, deviations, and engineering records.
Drive safety, quality, and compliance while managing risks, budgets, and schedules.
