Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering scope for its nationwide solar, storage, and substation projects. This hybrid role requires in-office presence in San Diego, CA, with details discussed during interview.

You will own delivery of engineering deliverables, supervise design teams and consultants, coordinate with the permitting group, and support bids, cost control, and project execution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in EPC, renewable energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 3+ years managing direct reports
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, ASCE, NESC, NFPA, utility standards.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
• Ability to travel up to 20% to project sites and work in active construction environments
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with accountability

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of all engineering deliverables for assigned projects and manage interfaces with permitting.
• Manage design schedules and budgets for internal and external consultants.
• Coordinate with permitting team on changes affecting design, cost, schedule.
• Support EPC bids and project execution.
• Review technical documents and communicate risks and assumptions.
• Represent SOLV engineering in project pursuits and bid strategy discussions.
