Job summary

Orb is seeking an engineering manager for the Entitlements & Spend Platform team to lead engineers building the runtime layer between Orb’s billing engine and customer workflows, including alerting, spend controls, entitlement checks, and usage analytics.

You’ll shape technical direction, collaborate with product/design, own architecture decisions, and ensure the surface API is correct and efficient for customers to act on real-time spend and entitlements.

Qualifications

• You have 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in an engineering manager or tech-lead role.
• You have deep knowledge of distributed systems, data modeling, and system architecture.
• You have a track record of growing engineers and maintaining high technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Entitlements & Spend Platform engineering team, setting technical direction and roadmap.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to align engineering with customer and business needs.
• Oversee architecture reviews, manage technical debt, and ensure reliable, low-latency systems.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture and mentor engineers.
