Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager, Proactive Security to set and lead the technical direction for platform hardening across AWS and GCP, globally. You will mentor tech leads, drive security controls, and partner with Core Infrastructure, Compute, and Data to harden shared cloud substrates.

This role emphasizes no-downtime platforms, on-call rigor, and secure-by-default outcomes. You will shape strategy, collaborate across engineering teams, and promote responsible AI tooling adoption

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Security or Infrastructure Platform Engineering at internet-scale, with 3+ years of technical leadership.
• Deep hands-on expertise hardening AWS and/or GCP at scale, including account structure and guardrails.
• Experience operating access and secrets infrastructure (Teleport, Vault) as tier-0 services.
• Track record in highly available, no-downtime platform services and strong on-call practices.
• Master's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the technical vision for the Security Engineering Platform team on AWS and GCP hardening.
• Influence engineering standards and leverage AI/LLMs to improve productivity and velocity.
• Own the hardening roadmap for tier-0 cloud infrastructure and on-call rigor.
• Coach and mentor tech leads and engineers to build durable security controls.
• Partner with Core Infrastructure, Compute, Data, and other teams to harden shared cloud substrates.
• Build and maintain high OE practices for tier-0 security platforms with clear escalation paths.
• Drive continuous hardening of AWS/GCP defaults to prevent production exposure.
• Enable secure adoption of AI tooling and agentic workflows from a platform perspective.
